I sit down with Author Simone Brown to discuss her newly published children's book; Selah Has a Secret.

About the book Selah Has a Secret: It's about Selah who has a family secret and is determined to protect her family. Like many other children, Selah lives at home with a parent who struggles with the disease of addiction. Most days, Selah is happy and playful, but her father's problem sometimes makes her feel afraid and alone. One day, Selah's thoughts make it difficult for her to make it through the school day until she met with Ms. G. the school psychologist. Join Selah as she learns about addiction and discovers new ways to care for herself and better manager her worries and feelings.

Join me as Simone and I discuss this awesome children's book, her organization called SELAH for COA (Social Emotional Learning and Healing for Children of Addiction). How children as well as adults can learn from this book and what made her write the book.

How do you see yourself? When you look in the mirror do you see someone beautiful or something that needs to be fixed or look better. I share my emotional journey to being content and how I've dealt with body dysmorphia since I was a teenager.  What is body dysmorphia you ask? It's a flawed and sometimes distorted image of how someone views themselves, especially when they look in the mirror. 

This topic is not discussed, but we'll get into it and have guests on the next episode to continue this discussion even further. 

I'm back after a long hiatus with Season 2-episode 1. I catch everyone up on the challenges I've been facing emotionally. I encourage everyone who are creating vision boards, vision journals to seek the Most High for the steps to the vision. The steps and the plan are just as important as the vision itself.
