Feeling your emotions is simple.
Not easy at first, but simple.
Most of us try to avoid emotions we don’t like. We distract, push them away, or try to fix them as fast as possible.
But emotions are not a problem.
They are part of being human.
When you feel an emotion, it’s coming from a thought. That’s important to know, but for this episode, we’re focusing on the feeling part.
So what does it actually mean to feel an emotion?
It means you pause.
You don’t run from it.
You don’t try to fix it right away.
You notice it.
Where do you feel it in your body? Is it tight in your chest? Heavy in your stomach? Warm? Tense?
Just notice.
You can even name it. This is sadness. This is frustration. This is fear.
And then you let it be there.
No rushing. No judgment.
You’re not stuck in it. Emotions move. They pass. It’s hard to know how with out a self-esteem education.
So if you’re not sure how to do this, that makes sense.
Once you learn self-esteem, the more you practice feeling them, the less scary they become.
Instead of avoiding them, you start to trust yourself to handle them.
That’s the shift.
You can feel them and move forward.
