Amanda Owen went to college to pursue her passion in teaching special education and began her career in the school system, however Amanda always felt like there was more that she could do to give back to those with developmental disabilities. That experience led to the idea she had which later became the non-profit she founded and continues to lead today called Puzzle Pieces. Puzzle Pieces is an activity day center for individuals with special needs.

Most importantly Mr. Barron is devoted to his faith, and his relationship to his wife Jo who he has been married to since 1976. They have 6 children of whom many are also entrepreneurs. Today’s Business Playmaker is the CEO of Cliff Hagan Boy’s and Girl’s Club, Steve Winkler. Prior to being CEO, Steve spent 18 years in education as a teacher and a principal, and 22 years coaching high school basketball. This episode is full of great stories with all of the passion and energy Steve brings to everything he does.

Today’s Business Playmaker is entrepreneur and business owner, Matthew Purcell. Matt grew up around the construction industry, thought that construction was not what he wanted to do long term, and so he got a degree in Political Science with aspirations of becoming an attorney. Before going to law school Matt traveled the country in a mode of self discovery and eventually found his way back to his hometown where he began the steps of taking over the family business.

Today’s Business Playmaker is Malcolm Bryant of the Malcolm Bryant Corporation. Malcolm and his wife Sally have owned Malcolm Bryant Corporation since 1980 and they continue to grow and have become a pillar in their community. Malcolm has won multiple awards including Entrepreneur of the Year, Business of the Year, Optimist Club Citizen of the Year, and the Mayors Award of Excellence for his extensive volunteer work and business commitments.

Business Playmakers is pleased to introduce Molley Rickets. Molley has had an extensive, successful career in Human Resources, Workforce Development, and Recruiting. She has worked for companies such as Sears, and Citi Group, and after selling a business she owned before going back into the corporate world, Molley decided that being an entrepreneur was her real passion. Molley then started another company called Incipio Workforce Solutions.

Business Playmakers is proud to introduce Jordan Tong. After finishing his degree in Civil Engineering from Tennessee Tech University, Jordan joined his family business, Franz Building Services as a third generation owner. In 2007 Jordan was able to build the company from 1.7 million dollars to 10 million dollars with 400 employees in three states.

Business Playmakers is pleased to introduce Don Brown. Don has a tremendous amount of experience including winner of the National LandsEnd Marketing Competition, and has been written about in Fortune Magazine. From his experience as an employee for a logistics firm, Don has had the opportunity to work with multiple well known companies such as John Deere, Goodyear, Subaru, and Montgomery Ward.

This episode of Business Playmakers features Chip Pride. Chip has had a very diverse and successful career from non-profit fund raising to banking. He is also a father and husband, which Chip will tell you are the most important to him. Kyle and Chip have known each other for a number of years and the laid back manner of this recording will not seem like an interview, but instead a conversation between two friends catching up.
