Dr. Matthew Barker is the Founder and Director of Acoustic Pioneer. Dr. Barker completed his Doctorate at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center in 2004, where he focused on testing auditory processing and its crucial role in language development and reading skills. He shares his insights on the significant impact of underdeveloped auditory processing skills, which affect over 10% of elementary/primary school children, causing them to struggle with learning.
In Part 1 of this 2 part series, Dr. Barker takes a deep dive into the importance of auditory processing and the impact it has when someone experiences a deficit. He also shares more about the areas of auditory processing that will impact students who are struggling to read and learn in school.
