There Are Two Sides to Everything: Who Is Sitting on the Throne?
There are two sides to everything—the way you see yourself and the way others experience you. But there is also another battle happening within: the Spirit versus the flesh.
In this episode of Empower Connect Conversations, Carolyn McClain, the Warrior of Forgiveness, challenges you to stop looking at everyone else and pray one powerful prayer:
“God, show me ME.”
Through a real-life father-and-son conflict, we explore how quickly disagreements can escalate when anger, pride, control, fear, and the need to be right take over.
And we confront an important truth:
You can be right about the situation and still be wrong in your response.
So ask yourself:
🎙️ When I'm challenged or disrespected, which side of me shows up?
🎙️ Am I trying to be right—or righteous?
🎙️ Is Jesus truly sitting on the throne of my heart?
🎙️ Am I living for the Kingdom of God or allowing my flesh to rule?
Scriptures: Galatians 5:16–17, Romans 7:15–25, James 1:19–20, Psalm 139:23–24, Matthew 6:24, Matthew 12:30.
Don't listen thinking about who else needs this message.
Listen asking:
“Lord, what are You trying to show me about ME?”
There may be two sides to the story and two competing desires within you—but there can only be ONE throne.
Who is sitting on yours?
