Lady Gina Whitaker Cannon is the eldest of three girls born to Drs. Clifton and Dolores Whitaker. She is a native of Richmond, Virginia where she was educated in the Richmond Public Schools. She continued her academic studies at Virginia State University and at Virginia Commonwealth University. In addition, Gina received certification in Religious studies and Proclamation Preparation from the Evans-Smith Institute of Virginia Union University, the Master of Divinity degree from the Samuel DeWitt Proctor School of Theology at Virginia Union University, and the Master of Arts in Christian Education from Samuel DeWitt Proctor School Theology at Virginia Union University.

Gina Cannon is a unique gift to the Body of Christ and able to encourage, empower, and inspire anyone she encounters. Her background includes extensive travel as an actress with Theatre and Company, trained vocalist, wedding coordinator, Christian comic, and workshop facilitator. She blends all of her gifts together in order to minister to the people of God. She is the founder of GWC Ministries, where the mission of the ministry is to encourage women to know that we may be bruised but we are not broken. Elder Cannon is a strong supporter of the United Way, American Cancer Society, Salvation Army, and National Autism Society, with her time, talents, and treasure. She does not deem it robbery to support such outreach ministries, as they have impacted her life in some manner. Her motto is “Others Rather Than Self”.
