We have a treat in store for you!  Our guest for Tuesday's Lunchtime Inspiration is the lovely Lindsey Akers. Lindsey is the Director of Public Relations for Tazewell County Public Schools and serves as an instructor of communication at the Tazewell County Career & Technical Center.

Akers previously served as the director of marketing and public relations at Bluefield College in Bluefield, Virginia. Prior to working at Bluefield College, she served as an instructor in the Department of Communication Arts & Media at Concord University for over a decade. Akers also has also previously served as an adjunct faculty member at both Bluefield College and Marshall University Community and Technical College in Huntington, West Virginia. She started teaching at the collegiate level at the age of 21. In addition to her experience in higher education, Lindsey also has retail management experience and a strong background in sales.

She earned a master’s degree in communication studies from Marshall University in Huntington, West Virginia, and a bachelor’s degree in communication arts with an emphasis in public relations from Concord University in Athens, West Virginia.

As a Kingdom Ambassador, Angela has dedicated her life to serving those in need, placing an emphasis on serving students with educational disabilities. Angela holds a Bachelor's degree in Psychology and in African-American Studies from the University of Virginia as well as a Master's degree in Social Work from Virginia Commonwealth University. Additionally, Angela is a Certified Trauma Specialist.  Angela utilizes her spiritual gifts as well as her background in mental health to encourage and to mentor young people.  It is her sincere desire to be a beacon of hope to a dying world.
