In Proverbs 22:29 Solomon talks about the kind of worker that gets preferment in his court. It's the man (or woman) that is "skillful" in his work. There is a lot loaded into the word "skillful" and it's good for us to remember it before we go to work today.

Proverbs 22:24-25 Is strong advice to not have friendship or association with someone who is given to anger - a wrathful person. Would it not be a good thing to befriend someone like this to have a good influence?

Proverbs 22:22-23 tells to not rob from the poor or to help someone else do so by manipulation of the law. Why? The LORD is watching and He will plead their case. He will punish those who thoughtlessly afflict the powerless poor.
