Ps Jen kicks off our Easter series by looking at the way the cross of Christ challenges our understanding of human wisdom and allows us to bring our mess to Jesus.

In a culture of seemingly overwhelming “new normals” with the presence of COVID-19 and continuous change, the Renewed Normal explores a constant promise of the Bible: the renewal of our hearts, minds, soul and strength as draw close to Jesus.

In the final week of our series, Pastor Mike teaches on renewing our souls to be deep and restful in Jesus. He gives four spiritual disciplines alongside bible reading and prayer that encourage space for God to speak, for us to delight in the Lord and for the Holy Spirit to continue His transformative work.

Just as we make Christ our heart’s affection and our mind’s attention, this week Pastor Mike challenges us to point to Jesus with our bodies and their actions. This is difficult in a culture that idolises independence, self gratification and control. However using 1 Corinthians, Mike gives us 5 reasons to care for our bodies; being made in the image of God, being made a steward of God’s creation, being made a temple of the Holy Spirit, being made to reflect our inner life and being promised resurrection bodies. He finishes explaining that the most important reason to do so is because Jesus did- he gave it all so that we may know and be known by the Father.

This week, Pastor Mike leads us from the heart to the mind, showing us how the Bible urges us to take our thoughts captive and renew our minds with the mind of Christ. Finally, he leads us through the four voices our mind must discern before helping us see three ways that we can take our thoughts captive to win the battle over anxiety and depression.
