I Stay with the Recluse of Mount Hibiscus

Dark hills distant in the setting sun.

日暮苍山远，

(暮色苍茫，更觉前行山路遥远。)

Thatched hut stark under wintery skies.

天寒白屋贫。

(天寒地冻，倍觉投宿人家清贫。)

A dog barks at the brushwood gate.

柴门闻犬吠，

(忽然听得柴门狗叫，)

As someone heads home this windy, snowy night.

风雪夜归人。

(应是主人风雪夜归。)
