Today we are in a great deal of angst about our missing podcast author VG Anderson who was supposed to appear on the podcast but seems to have disappeared completely. To highlight the mystery of her disappearance, we are going to look at five tales of the paranormal from the Pacific Northwest, or at least 4 out of 5. If you like this kind of podcast, let us know. Michelle Dickenson, author of Breaking Into My Life joined us on Books in Heinessight for the second time to talk about her wonderful book and the work she is doing in the field of mental health awareness. Michelle grew up in a home with a bi-polar mother. In our first podcast, we went into the details of what life was like growing up as a caregiver from a very young age. In this podcast, we discuss Michelle’s work with youth, high schools and other organizations. Michelle explains her belief in what she is doing, and why she is doing it. Steven Mays is a graduate of the US Naval Academy who was personally interviewed by and served under Admiral Hyman Rickover as a quality control officer for nuclear technology aboard a number of Los Angeles class attack submarines and later went on to work for the Nuclear Regulatory Commission.  Steven Mays is now a corporate leadership coach and the author of Power of 3 Lessons in Leadership. Today we talk about leadership, Stevens experiences and whether or not there is a leadership crises in America today.

Books in Heinessight is a podcast to help authors get the word out. I spend a lot of time publicizing my guests by posting links to their books on my Books in Heinessight website, while putting up their personal information on two websites. I also spend a lot of time promoting my guests on social media. With that backdrop this podcast guest I mistakenly invited on the show is about the worst podcast guest I have had or anybody could have. Because this guest turned out to be such a nightmare, included in this episode are some of my own comedy routines and other things that annoy us just to keep you entertained and thanking your lucky stars you aren't listening to someone whose attitudes we all would be better off without.

Dr. Nick Begich is the eldest son of the late United States Congressman from Alaska, Nick Begich Sr., and political activist Pegge Begich. He is well known in Alaska for his own political activities. He was twice elected President of both the Alaska Federation of Teachers and the Anchorage Council of Education. He has been pursuing independent research in the sciences and politics for most of his adult life.

Nick Licata is a legendary Seattle politician having served on the City Council as President. Nick is joining us for this Books in Heinessight Podcast to talk about his book Becoming a Citizen Activist. According to Nick’s Amazon author profile, Nick “became a Seattle city councilmember despite being significantly outspent and the majority of the council, the mayor, and both daily newspapers supporting his opponent. Elected to five terms, served as Council President and in 2012 he was named by the Nation as  Progressive Municipal Official of the Year and twice named Best Local Politician by the Seattle Weekly. His election in 2013 broke all previous records for the highest votes received citywide for a city council member in a contested race.”

James Gilliland is probably known more worldwide for his famous ECETI Ranch where UFO's frequent Mt. Adams like teenagers at a shopping mall. What most may not know is about his talent and his thoughtfulness as an author. In this first interview, we ask about the motivations for James' writing endeavors. One mystery we are looking to solve, for example, is how he became so prolific in 2016, producing three books that year.
