In the last few decades, the Church has escaped from its responsibility to take a stand against tyranny. Our founding fathers were once actively applying Scripture to their lives and to the formation of the republic, encouraged by the words of patriot pastors. There is no one more equipped and called by God than pastors to teach American citizens how to apply biblical principles to every aspect of our lives, and we have lost the importance of that leadership. In early America, the pulpits became the source of discipleship that spread the vales of biblical faith, so that Americans could stand with character and principle against tyranny. The men and women who founded our country did not want to establish a theocracy, but they did seek the ability to govern themselves according to Christian values. If we hope to become a united country that is not easily toppled by worldwide powers, we must go back to the principles of the U.S. Constitution and empower our pastors to lead us well.
