Guest BIO: Dr. Jessica Drummond, DCN, CNS, PT, NBC-HWC, is the founder and CEO of The Integrative Women’s Health Institute, The Outsmart Endo Health Coaching Program, and the creator of the Women’s Health Coach Certification.

She is passionate about caring for and empowering people who struggle with women’s and pelvic health concerns. After decades of stagnation, Dr David Griffiths is on the show to share improvements in diagnosis and treatment of endometriosis’ associated conditions, including adenomyosis, interstitial cystitis, and fibromyalgia following introduction of Tier 1 testing.

Mr Griffiths* is a consultant gynecologist from the UK with more than 25 years of experience and sees patients from London and the South West of England. He also consults with international patients and those seeking a second opinion. As a recognised urogynecologist he is also able to see patients with both gynecological and bladder problems.

Mr Griffiths completed his formative training in the Midlands winning many prizes and awards. His first fellowship was in infertility and IVF at St James's University Hospital, Leeds. Following a competitive process he was awarded a 12 month funded Fellowship to Harvard Medical School, Boston, USA. Before taking up his NHS Consultant post he also worked at the Center for Endometriosis Care, Atlanta, Georgia and various hospitals in New Zealand.

His specialist interests are menstrual disorders, pelvic pain & endometriosis. He has a wealth of experience in dealing with the early stages of endometriosis.

Mr Griffiths is married with four daughters.

*In the UK, surgeons are conventionally addressed as "Mr" rather than the title "Dr" common in the US.

Carolyn and Mark (Dr. Noar) discuss the genetic and biological factors that cause endometriosis, including the role of a patient’s uterus anatomy and reproductive hormones like progesterone. Other factors covered include the role of inflammatory responses in symptom severity and the composition of a patient’s uterine microbiome. At the end of the episode (c. 26:30), Carolyn talks about the importance of open communication between parents and daughters on the topic of menstrual pain and reproductive health.

Dr. Noar and Carolyn speak with Dr. Larry Glazerman on the importance of individualized treatment plans and multimodal therapy for effective endometriosis treatment. They also talk about the variability of endo symptoms and the different medications available for their treatment (as well as how these medications work).

About Dr. Glazerman:

Larry R. Glazerman completed medical degree at Jefferson Medical College, Philadelphia and residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Allentown, PA. In May 2010 he received an MBA in Healthcare Administration from DeSales University, in Center Valley, PA. He is board-certified in obstetrics and gynecology, and also certified in laparoscopy and hysteroscopy by the Accreditation Council for Gynecologic Endoscopy.

His special expertise and interests are minimally invasive gynecologic surgery as well as family planning. After 28 years of Ob-Gyn practice, from 2008 – 2012, he was faculty at the USF Morsani College of Medicine in Tampa, and was director of an AAGL sponsored Minimally Invasive GYN Surgery Fellowship at USF. He subsequently served as medical director at Planned Parenthood of Delaware, as well as Medical Director, Utilization Management at Highmark Inc, in Wilmington DE. He is clinical associate professor of Ob-Gyn at his alma mater, Sidney Kimmel Medical College of Thomas Jefferson University. He is a member of numerous professional societies, including the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, and AAGL. From 2021 – 2024 he was in Medical Affairs at Sumnitomo Pharma America (formerly Myovant Sciences). He is currently on the Scientific Advisory Board of the Endometriosis Foundation of America

He has been married to his wife, Joan, for 29 years. They have three children and four grandchildren. His hobbies include photography, music, cruising, golf, and bridge.
