Budget your time and set boundaries to achieve your authentically lived life. How?
Your money and your budget are tools. Hard stop. These tools help you live your version of your best lived life. So take all those ideas about making coffee at home, cutting cable, staycations, packing lunch, buying generic brands and just put them on hold. We both know they likely aren’t doing much for you anyways.
You are achieving an outcome (the goal) through repeated trial and error, prototyping, testing hypothesis etc (iteration), EACH TIME building off of the last end result. It is an unending evolution, which also means as you grow as a person from these iterative experiences, so too does your goal.
Perfect takes many forms that twist and turn in each individual and each environment you encounter. Build awareness of when you're pursuing perfect and when you're being your authentic self.
We do many things because we believe we should, whether we want to actually do them or not. The holidays are filled with traditions that no one actually remembers the purpose behind, projections of perfection upon yourself, upon others and upon the season itself.
Ask yourself: what’s the worst thing that could happen? What if it wasn’t perfect?
We put undue pressure on ourselves to get things perfect from the get go. This pursuit of perfection prevents most of us from even starting. Getting it perfect is the enemy of getting anything good done, a perfect life is the enemy of a good life lived. I want you to do whatever you want to do, doing it messy, making mistakes, trying that one thing you always wished you’d tried, learning and growing. Your idea of perfection is going to be just as unique as your authentic self. I’m Amaia Stecker, your host. Listen in as we tackle these issues of perfection here Enemy of Perfect.
