Energizing & Empowering Minds is all about helping parents "live beyond the diagnosis". Originally started in 1996 by Kristin's mother to serve families with bleeding disorders, it has grown to provide psycho-social programs uniquely designed to serve parents and families with any type of medical condition. The classes offered help parents understand their children aren't "china dolls" and remind them "they are the parent". It's important to set acceptable boundaries. Kristin offers a fantastic analogy for driving on the road.

From their website:
"We partner with and/or are contracted by local treatment centers, hospitals, and parent support groups. Over the years, we’ve worked in partnership with Bleeding Disorder Treatment Centers and other affiliated organizations to bring in our specialized Empact Parenting programs.
Facilitators are typically trained social workers, counselors, nurses, and parents of children with medical diagnoses and conditions.
To conduct and support programs, we either train local teams OR provide members of our National Team. If you want to learn more about scheduling training or programs for your hospital or organization, please contact us at [email protected]."
