I was able to sit down with Hank Porter at the Petroleum Club of Houston to chat about his career as a fourth generation oilfield hand. We discussed his previous roles and the decisions that were made behind each career move. From working at Halliburton and eventually moving over to the service side, it’s good to hear that he has sat at both sides of the table.

We discuss how she’s making history being the first black woman President, and the second woman President at the club. We discuss the two books she wrote and the inspiration for writing them. We chatted about her involvement throughout the community serving on various boards, as well as what it’s like being a black woman in the oil and gas industry.We wrap up discussing all the reciprocating clubs that members have access to, as well as the membership process. Really enjoyed her positivity, community outreach, and relationship based approach on all she does.

TJ joins me at the Petroleum Club of Houston to discuss his task of raising awareness and donations for the National Turkey Wildlife Federation (NTWF).He explains not only in wildlife and habitat conservation, that the organization is also doing some new and creative things to attract a new generation of hunters, as the average hunter license age is 55.We discussed how he plans to team up with oil & gas companies to help with their ESG initiative as well as providing a huge bang for their buck.As we are environmentalists being in the oil & gas industry, having TJ on was a perfect fit!
