Tisha Schuller welcomes Naomi Boness, managing director of both the Standford University Natural Gas and Hydrogen Initiatives to the Energy Thinks podcast.

Prior to her role at Stanford, Naomi held technical and management positions at Chevron for over a decade where she most recently worked in upstream strategy and portfolio analysis, with particular emphasis on North America shale gas and global LNG projects.

Naomi received a Bachelor of Science from the University of Leeds, a Master of Science from Indiana University Bloomington, and a PhD in Geophysics from Stanford University.

She currently serves on many boards such as The Energy Leadership Institute, OpenMinds, Inc., Babcock & Wilcox, Ambient Fuels, LLC., geCKo Matericals, Aemetis, and Coalition for Renewable Natural Gas.

Naomi is an advisor for Ammobia, Partnership to Address Global Emissions, Veriten, and EvolOH.

In her free time, Naomi volunteers as an educator at interview workshops at Wardrobe for Opportunity in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Tisha Schuller welcomes Scott Hallam, president and CEO at Boardwalk Pipelines to the Energy Thinks podcast. Scott joined Boardwalk in September of 2023 with over two decades of upstream, midstream, and downstream experience in the natural gas industry. Prior to joining Boardwalk's leadership Scott held various leadership roles in operations, commercial, engineering, construction, environmental, and safety.

Listeners will hear the importance of asking the right questions: with company leadership, with stakeholders, and with leaders concerned about the energy future. Scott relates this analogy to one of his favorite movies, Moneyball, which is also a New York Times Bestseller. Scott discusses his takeaways from the midcontinent independent system operator (MISO) reliability imperative report released in February 2024.

Scott received a bachelor’s degree from Ashland University as well as an MS and MBA from the University of Findlay. He currently serves on the Southern Gas Association Board of Directors and is the Executive Board chair through December 2024. Scott also serves on the Board of Trustees of the United Way of Greater Houston and on the Board of Directors of The Santiago Partnership.

Brian is also the founding Vice Chairman of the Clean Hydrogen Future Coalition (CHFC), a diverse industry group focused on the development of a clean hydrogen economy and an advisor to the Coalition for Renewable Natural Gas and Innovation Labs.

He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in chemical engineering from Texas A&M University and an MBA from the University of Houston. Brian currently resides in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

She holds a bachelor of science degree from Cornell University and a master of public policy from Harvard University. She was an officer in the U.S. Army Reserve and interned at the Pentagon as part of the Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers Europe (SHAPE) liaison office. Regina was born and raised in Pearl City, Hawaii, and currently resides in Houston, TX.

Tisha Schuller welcomes Diane Burman, New York State Public Service Commissioner, to the Energy Thinks podcast. Listeners will hear Diane’s thoughts about the personal, emotional, and unique relationship stakeholders have with energy. Diane also discusses her experience engaging in the hard conversations about the expectations of the energy future from New Yorkers who are paying attention now more than ever.

Diane Burman currently serves as a Commissioner of the New York State Public Service Commission, which regulates the state’s electric, gas, steam, water, and telecommunications utilities. She is also a member of the National Association of Regulatory Utility Commissioners, serving on committees related to critical infrastructure, natural gas, and pipeline safety.

Prior to the Commission, Diane was with the New York State Senate since 2009, including serving as the Chief Counsel to the Republican Conference. Prior to her position with the Senate, she served as Special Counsel to the New York State Public Service Commission.

Diane has held a number of other legal and management positions, including Executive Director of the New York State PTA, Assistant Executive Director of the Albany Jewish Community Center, and Director of Pro Bono Affairs for the New York State Bar Association. She has served in several high-level positions within state government, including Assistant Counsel with the Department of Economic Development, Assistant Attorney General in the Department of Law, Senior Court Attorney with the Unified-Court System, and as a judicial clerk for the New York State Court of Appeals. She was also an adjunct legal professor at Hofstra University and Adelphi University.

Diane obtained her Bachelor of Arts degree from Molloy College and her Juris Doctor degree from Fordham University School of Law. She was admitted to the bar in 1992. A life-long New Yorker, Diane Burman currently resides in the Capital District with her family.
