He desired to live SO separate from the culture, that His lifestyle was only recognizable to a life led by Jesus. His worship, ethics, and sacrifice were focused on the Kingdom, not the thoughts and opinions of others.

We can disagree with the ethics of others, while still loving them. We can stand up for injustice, without canceling a whole group of people. Do you live by the ethics of the Kingdom, or the ethics of your opinions?

On one hand, we're so quick to point out the sin in others, often leading to hypocrisy. On the other hand, sometimes we offer grace too quickly, without explaining how conviction and repentance leads us closer to the Father. As Innovative Reconcilers, we are called to model conviction, conversion, and compensation; speaking Truth in love to those that need to be met by the Savior.

The word today is a convicting look at how many of us can say we're "fans" of Jesus, without knowing what it truly looks like to be a friend of his. Jesus doesn't owe us anything, but He deserves our love and devotions. In order to be a friend to Jesus, we must have a consistent and transparent relationship with him. In turn, our relationships with one another, out of an overflow of who Jesus is to us should model empathy and diversity.
