Many parents feel lost, inadequate, and under equipped when it comes to disciplining their children. Stressed out by work, unsure of where to begin, and the constant demands on our time, energy, and resources can make it easy to lose sight. The question is not “if” we are making disciples but what type of disciples we are making. In this episode, Josh and Eli are joined by a special guest and cover the topic of family discipleship. Additional Resources: Family Discipleship by Matt Chandler, Tech-Wise Family by Andy Crouch, and Family Worship by Donald Whitney
“And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth.” (John 1:14). The Christian life is not defined by compartmentalization or separation. We don’t put on our “Christian” hats to come to the worship service and then take them off. We are called to live incarnationally, wrapped in Christ, and shine light. Josh and Eli talk the doctrine of incarnation and why this current culture moment is an opportunity for the Church to bear much fruit through incarnational living.
The election is over, the results are in, now what? For some, you’re still reveling in the victory of your candidate and for others you’re ready to fight because of the defeat of your own. In a post-election environment that can be described as tense, at the very least, how can the Christian respond and engage in healthy dialogue and meaningful ways? In this episode, Josh and Eli tackle post-election politics and partisanship.

We are all disciples of something, it’s really just a question of who or what? So what does it mean to be a disciple of Jesus and how does that impact the way someone should live? On today’s episode, we discuss disciple making through an invitation for people to follow Jesus by the way in which they see a follower of Christ live. We’ll discuss the BLESS method as well as share a little bit about people who have influenced our own disciple making journey. Recommended resources in this episode include: Gaining by Losing by JD Greear and 4 Chair Discipling by Dann Spader.
As the coronavirus pandemic continues, many schools are shifting models in how they educate students. Some schools are going online, others are delaying, others are opening as normal, and still others are trying hybrid models. In the midst of all of this, many parents are opting for some measure of at-home schooling. On today’s episode, Josh and Eli consider the “why” behind this movement, discuss practices and healthy rhythms, and consider how the Church might best support and encourage our school system.
