The world tells us that the opposite of fear is courage. According to Jesus, the opposite of fear is actually something much stronger.

Life can be scary. Even the most spiritual people will face challenges that will cause fear. But Jesus doesn't tell us to get over fear. He invites us to fear bigger.

At the very essence of God is joyful, loving community. A community you and I were made to be a part of and thrive within.

God wants to create a mature community who can declare his praises and expand His kingdom. Throughout the New Testament, we see how the local church formed to do just that, and we see how we can find our ultimate purpose through this community.

In 2 Chronicles, we see the story of Hezekiah's reign as a king of Judah and an example of how we can respond to opposition in a way that glorifies God.

Fitting a familiar pattern for the kings of Judah, Uzziah's reign started off with a lot of promise. This time, though, it was his pride that got in the way. Pride is a lot more than simple arrogance—it's a heart issue that all of us face at some point in our lives. How does Uzziah's struggle with pride point to Jesus as the ultimate king?

In 2 Chronicles 24, we see Joash start out as a young king of Judah with a lot of promise. As he gets older, however, he strays farther and farther away from living a life that honors God.
