In week 2 of our Made for Mission series, Pastor Jordan walked us through another one of our Cable practices and provided some practical ways to listen to God's voice by reading the Bible daily and spending intentional time in prayer.

In the first week of our Made for Mission Series Pastor Brian reminded us that even though we can't control the release date of heaven, we CAN contribute to it! He focused specifically on two of Engedi's CABLE practices. We can Care for the poor and vulnerable, and Bless people with the good news of Jesus.

As Pastor Brian closes out our Future is Faith series, he gives us five "marks" of a faith-filled Christian. It can be hard to tell if we are actually applying the things we have learned over the past seven weeks, but these can be indications of whether or not we are allowing God to take hold in our lives toward greater things.

Building strong faith comes with challenges along the way, and one of these can come in the form of doubt. Doubt can cause us to ask demanding questions that can feel like they undercut our faith, but God isn't afraid of these big questions! Instead, because of his love for us he meets us right where we are in the midst of them. Pastor Brian leads us through the importance of waiting on God and being patient during delayed answers in this week's message in our series.

No matter how hard your journey has been, in the middle of seasons of life where we feel that we could not be farther from the Lord, we need to learn how to get on our knees and strengthen and encourage ourselves in our Heavenly Father. Our faith requires us to contend for our future, our children, and for the kingdom of God.

Faith is dynamic. We get to play a part in the growth of our faith by building a strong foundation. In the 4th week of The Future is Faith series, Pastor Brian gives us tangible ways and action steps for us to take to grow our faith.

In Matthew 21, Jesus talks about having faith without doubt, or Unshakeable Faith as Brian mentions in his teaching this week. When people have unshakeable faith they can do more than they ever thought imaginable, because it activates the power of God for the impossible. This doesn't mean there will never be trials in life, but it does mean we can stand firm through our trial because of Jesus Christ.

Biblical faith is both grounded in truth on the basis of evidence as well as having a deep personal relationship with Jesus. Biblical faith is also being expectant of the promises that God has laid out for us in his word. But - it doesn't end there, in order for our faith to be real, we need to be active in living out that faith. Pastor Brian explains in his teaching what all of this means and how we can truly activate our faith.

In the first week of our New Teaching series, The Future is Faith, Pastor Brian references John 14:11-14. He encouraged us that when we have great faith in Jesus, it activates the power of God in our lives and great faith is the groundwork for greater things.
