In this final part of my conversation with Elfin Waters, we spend time talking about social media, the importance of doing things without perfectionism, and finding time for language study.

You can find Elfin on Instagram at #allaboutitalian.

In this episode, I continue my conversation with Elfin Waters, teacher of all things Italian, including the language. We had been talking about her short videos on Instagram. She called them “postcards from a friend.” In this episode we talk about postcrossing, book crossing, and the ways that ordinary people can create goodwill around the world.

My guest today is Elfin Waters, teacher of all things Italian, including the language. She gives daily video lessons on Instagram where she has over 2000 followers. She says she’s on a mission to get more English speakers to overcome their fears and learn Italian so they can get out of their tourist bubble and connect with Italy in a more meaningful way. This is part 1 of 3.

In this episode, I talk with Brian Sandri, an interesting guy who I met while volunteering at Angloville in Poland two years ago. Originally from New Zealand, Brian has been traveling the world with only an iPad and hand luggage since retiring 3 years ago. So far, he has visited 70 countries and all 7 continents.

You'll learn about how he uses home exchanges to make his travels affordable and also listen to him talk about the languages of Afrikaans, Mandarin, and a nonverbal language understood throughout the world.

A good map for offline - Brian uses Pocket Earth because it often gives him bus and train routes and can save locations.

Translation Software - Brian uses Microsoft “Translator” and can select languages to use offline.
