Natural Resources and Environmental Sustainability Minister Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad is urging Malaysians not to let their guard down, as the current flood situation improves. He says we need to stay vigilant against a second wave of flooding which could hit next week.

The Malaysian Medical Association says floodwater is highly pathogenic and can cause numerous health hazards, including potentially fatal diseases. 

The government subsidy to cap festive season airfares at RM499 will be extended from three days to four.

The flood situation across eight states is showing further signs of improvement, with the number of evacuees down to below 95,000.
