En esta ocasión les comparto una conversación en inglés, entre un doctor y un paciente.
Acá debajo, tienen la transcripción:
Doctor: Good morning. How can I help you today?
Patient: Good morning, doctor. I haven’t been feeling well lately.
Doctor: I’m sorry to hear that. Can you describe your symptoms?
Patient: Yes. I’ve had a headache for the past three days, and I feel very tired all the time. I also have a sore throat.
Doctor: I see. Have you had a fever?
Patient: Yes, a mild one. Around 38 degrees Celsius.
Doctor: Do you have a cough or any difficulty breathing?
Patient: I have a dry cough, but no trouble breathing.
Doctor: Any other symptoms? Like nausea, muscle pain, or loss of taste or smell?
Patient: My muscles ache a bit, but I haven’t lost my sense of taste or smell.
Doctor: Have you traveled recently or been in contact with anyone who was sick?
Patient: No, I haven’t traveled, and I don’t know anyone around me who is sick.
Doctor: Alright. I’m going to check your temperature and listen to your chest. Please take a deep breath… and again.
Patient: OK
Doctor: Your lungs sound clear, and your temperature is slightly high. It might be a viral infection, possibly the flu or a mild case of COVID-19. I recommend you rest, drink plenty of fluids, and take paracetamol for the headache and fever.
Patient: Okay. Do I need to take a COVID test?
Doctor: Yes, just to be safe. I’ll write you a referral for a test. You should isolate until you get the results.
Patient: Alright. Thank you, doctor.
Doctor: You’re welcome. If your symptoms get worse—like trouble breathing or a high fever—come back or go to the emergency room. Take care and get well soon.
Patient: Thank you. I will.
