Elaborate - very complicated with lots of details.
- The design of the house was very elaborate.
- She wants the dress to simple - nothing too elaborate.
Pop culture - TV shows, books, movies, music etc. that are popular in a specific society.
- Manga and anime are important parts of Japanese pop culture.
- I haven’t watched any of the Marvel movies. I don’t really follow pop culture.
Glow in the dark - something that produces light in the dark without electricity.
- Do you like my new watch? The watch face glows in the dark.
- As a child, I had stars on my bedroom ceiling that glowed in the dark.
Commercial - connected with making money (usually has a negative meaning).
- I think Christmas is too commercial these days.
- I don’t like cities that are too commercial - I prefer visiting places where I can relax.
