    Like there’s no tomorrow: do something passionately

    Have you ever felt you might not have a second chance to do something?

    This is when you say :

    Like there’s no tomorrow

    As if there was no tomorrow

    It means to do something as if it were your last moment

    How to use it

    Here are a few everyday examples:

    * I ate as if there was no tomorrow

    * You’re eating like there’s no tomorrow

    * He’s been drinking like there’s no tomorrow

    Mini pronunciation tip

    Notice how native speakers often connect the words:

    Notice how “there is” becomes there’s, making the expression smoother and more natural.

    * There is no tomorrow → There’s no tomorrow

    This is when you say :

    I binge-watched that series

    It means to do something without pause, excessively.

    How to use it

    Here are a few everyday examples:

    * He binge-smoked because he was feeling anxious

    * I’ve never binge-watched any TV show or series

    * She was binge-eating candy

    Don’t forget the hyphen (-).

    Mini pronunciation tip

    Notice how the word binge is pronounced with a soft G, just like gym or giant.

    and

    When you say binge-watched, the -ed sounds like /t/

    Get it over with: do something right there, but you don’t really want to do it

    One expression. Five minutes. Stronger English.

    Have you ever felt like avoiding a difficult phone call or starting a presentation?

    This is when you say :

    Let’s get it over with

    It means to do something even when you don’t really feel enthusiastic about it.

    How to use it

    Here are a few everyday examples:

    I have to get an injection, I’m scared, but let’s get it over with!

    I need to talk to someone I don’t really want to talk to , let’s get that conversation over with!

    I don’t want to get up, let’s get it over with!

    Mini pronunciation tip

    Notice how native speakers often connect the words:

    Get it over with

    You’ll hear the T in get sound more like a soft D: “ged it.”
