Taking a curious interest in spiritualism can unexpectedly thrust you into a world of etheric creatures, out-of-body experiences, and travel to otherworldly locations. We follow the story of a woman who, after being spiritually electrocuted by a Shamanic object, embarks on a journey both spiritual and physical that is almost too wild to comprehend. From strange healings to spider-like monsters, her experiences will leave you questioning the nature of the reality we inhabit. Then, we cover a strange, Missing 411-style report of a man who seemingly fell from nowhere with no recall of his past.

As our world becomes increasingly focused on materialism, a void of enchantment has been left behind, often filled by haphazard spiritual pursuits. Many remain unaware of the potential dangers they may encounter in these paths. In this episode, we discuss the rise of technology and the return to enchantment and spiritual beliefs, which could help humanity avoid a daunting transhumanist future. We also revisit liminal zones and share reports of some of the most unusual creatures ever encountered, including humanoid stalks of corn and menacing grasshoppers.

With its recent digital republication, we return to a Jacques Vallee classic and explore the extraordinary contactee-style encounters of a Spanish man flung into the non-physical reality of the extraterrestrial phenomenon. Was he really in contact with strange, blonde spacemen from Titan, or could it have been a ruse by unseen forces attempting to start a revolution? We discuss his and others' coincidental journeys to otherworldly realms and hear the music from another planet. Then we continue on the theme of the physical versus the nonphysical and describe encounters with dragons, flying creatures, and drug-induced judgmental thunderbirds.

Some stories of the paranormal are so outrageous that they seem impossible to believe. However, occasionally, a strange phenomenon comes along that, despite its absurdity, makes you pause and reconsider. In this episode, we dive into one such case as we examine the bizarre occurrences surrounding the Broad Camp Crystal Mine. With claims of levitating rocks, magnetized objects, glowing orbs, and even Sasquatch encounters, we question whether these strange events are evidence of the paranormal or something more mundane.

For our Plus+ members, we shift focus to the fascinating topic of time expansion, exploring reports of people who have navigated life-threatening situations by experiencing the distortion of time itself.

The world of the paranormal, by its very nature, is often almost impossible to decipher. Yet, some stories stand out as remarkable outliers in the field of high strangeness. In this discussion, we continue the story of a young boy whose initial encounters appeared to involve aliens but soon escalated into a series of experiences with strange beings, religious temptations, and otherworldly gateways to the unexplained.

We then deepen our exploration of high strangeness by examining “coat mutilations” and their connections to UFO encounters, along with reports of phantom cars and invisible brick walls appearing on desolate highways.

The post30.20 - MU Plus+ Podcast - Trickster's Treasure first appeared onMysterious Universe.

At the edges of reality, paranormal beings exist; this concept is especially emphasised in the spaces of liminal zones—areas both figurative and literal that exist in the in-between. Throughout history, people have described all kinds of paranormal encounters with strange beings that not only haunt these areas but also thrive within them. We discuss reports of encounters with the entities of these regions, including gnomes, ghostly apparitions, and even strange mechanically powered flying creatures.

Then, for our Plus+ members, we explore the unusual story of a man who had a childhood encounter with a pair of elf-like creatures that propel him into a world of high strangeness and unexplained mysteries. Who are these beings and what do they want? Join us on this episode to find out.

The post32.18 - MU Podcast - The Liminality Zone first appeared onMysterious Universe.

In 1996, veteran UFO researcher Budd Hopkins published a report that would change the UFO scene in ways no one could have imagined. He described the saga of a woman seemingly abducted from her New York City apartment in the middle of the night and thrust into a world of stalkers, MIB-like men, and diplomatic mystery. No longer was the UFO phenomenon limited to rural locations or lonely roads; if someone could be taken from a bustling city, then no one was safe. But was it true?

We discuss stunning new revelations suggesting that the story may not have been investigated as thoroughly as it should have and consider whether Hopkins may have been drawn in by the lure of crafting a more sensational narrative. Then, for our Plus+ members, we explore a series of strange mass hysteria events that may have a paranormal cause after all.
