It’s only May second, but May the Fourth is coming. Be
sure to choose your Star Wars ensemble wisely. This
week, shazbazzar and JediShua get ready for Captain America:
Civil War by taking a peek at earlier incarnations of
Captain America in movies and serials. In a stunning
revelation, JediShua discovers that the Captain America of today is
often very different from the Captain America of the past.
He’s not even Steve Rogers!
Since this Friday marks the release of the latest movie in the
Marvel Cinematic Universe, it seems only appropriate to dig into
the attic and dust off some Marvel-centric toys from our
childhood. From The Incredible Hulk to Spider-Man and Secret
Wars, the ‘Dads had a variety of MARVELOUS playthings from that
era, and not all of them were action figures!
In the NEWS, shazbazzar mentions a couple upcoming releases that
EarBuds might find interesting: Jim Henson’s Labyrinth
will be released in a special 30th anniversary edition in September
and Jon Spira’s Star Wars documentary, Elstree
1976, will be available digitally this Friday. JediShua
notes that Sid and Marty Croft’s highly-anticipated reboot of
Electra Woman and Dyna Girl is already available through a
YouTube subscription service.
