In this reflection for the Twenty-Fifth Sunday in Ordinary Time, Deacon Steve Sarnecki challenges us to be like Jesus, and be willing to serve and love others first.
Do you remember a time when you were first, rather than last? A time when someone in your family let you use the shower first? Or when you got to ride in the front car of a roller coaster? It’s an awesome feeling. The readings this weekend remind us that a follower of Christ is willing to be last. Jesus made it clear that we are made to love, and with that, we are made to serve.
