Today's topic is Enlightened by the Spirit.

I will begin today's topic by saying the following. The student of the Bible must be taught to approach it with a spirit of learning. We should search its pages, not evidence to maintain our opinions. But with the objective of knowing what God says. A true knowledge of the Bible can only be obtained with the help of that spirit through which the word was given.

We must be enlightened by studying the word of God and inspired by transmitting his teachings, whether in preaching or in any other situation. The preaching of the word will be of no benefit without the presence and continued help of the Holy Spirit. For he is the only effective teacher of divine truth. Only when the truth reaches the heart, accompanied by the spirit, will it renew consciousness and transform life.

A person may be able to present the letter of God's word. Perhaps he is familiar with all of his commandments and promises. But no soul will be touched unless the Holy Spirit impresses the heart with truth. The greatest education and the greatest advantages cannot make a person a vehicle of light without the collaboration of the spirit of God.
