In the summer and fall of 2012, Adam Sandler in an effort to normalize relations with the Studio System opened two movies co-starring with Andy Samberg, with the apparent intention of drawing in a younger demographic. Within seventy-two days, Hotel Transylvania and That's My Boy were released to the public. In the next few weeks, it became evident that Sandlers was forcing the moviegoers to subsidize not just some fart jokes but the dregs of his entourage. By the time the films had left theaters 40,000,000 'Sandfans' had bought tickets. An estimated 25 of his close buddies got a new boat each. Only a few viewers ever saw the truth.
