Wow! I know this couple from DA's time as lead elder in Kansas City, MO. I did not know them, however, in a very interpersonal way (totally my doing). From a far, they were the standard for me as to how my marriage should look. Hearing their testimony in this book leaves me with one expression, one of appreciation. They, through their transparency, have deepened my appreciation, not only for them, but for the person and work of Jesus Christ our Lord. My how Christ brings together his people by taking, as they frequently say, what is broken and making it whole! I love this couple so much. This book has provided me with much needed encouragement for my own marriage, because, unlike my flesh, the devil, and the world would accuse, my wife and I are battling some of the exact same issues. Yet, fight on they must and fight on I will. I will pass this book on to my children especially as they grow up unmarried, then going back to the beginning once they get married. Thank you so much for this book! I will always keep your marriage, your family, and your individual relationships with the Lord in my prayers.
The Horton's Transparency is Refreshing
This book is for everybody...married or single. Oftentimes, regardless of the area of our lives, we come across a person that we admire. Our own ambitions are sometimes derived from the life they live. However, we may feel that we could never reach their level of achievement. Sometimes, though, we don't know their background. We don't know what they went through to get to their position. This is not the case with D.A.and Elicia Horton. They opened up their lives to us. They walk you through their struggles. It was refreshing to realize that I was not the only one who has made this mistake or that mistake. It taught me that, with God, there is hope for me to not only have a gospel saturated relationship, but that I could lead a gospel saturated life.
