  • The World’s First Official Football Leather Yoga Mat - Entrepreneur Podcast Network – EPN

Cedric Yau, Modern-Day Renaissance Man, fitness expert, and Founder of BallerYoga who has just launched the world’s first Official Football Leather Yoga Mat joins Entrepreneurial Fit Radio.
Listen to interview with host Eric Dye & guest Cedric Yau discuss the following:

    * Where did the inspiration come from to create a Yoga Mat made from official football leather?
    * Once you saw the potential for a product like this, and with little to no experience in creating fitness products, how did you go about bringing the product to life?
    * With hundreds of ‘other’ yoga mats out there on the market, what convinced you to shake things up and ‘disrupt’ the market so to speak? How did you feel Yogis/Athletes would respond to a product like this?
    * Tell us about your plan to bring the product to market and how it evolved from the initial prototype to recent launch? What were the challenges, the revelations?
    * What is next for you and BallerYoga? How do you intend to expand the brand or bring more awareness to the evolving world of yoga & athletics?

Cedric Yau is a modern-day renaissance man. A hedge-fund data analyst by day and broadway producer-fitness competitor-kung fu expert-world traveler-entrepreneur by… well, somehow he makes time for it all.
Yau’s core business is providing Big, Fast, Reactive data analytics to multi-billion dollar hedge funds, via his Linebacker Data consulting group. Cedric’s goal of being ‘smarter than the next guy and faster than the smart guy’ is more than a mere mantra, it is a strategic philosophy that has led him to success across a gamut of entrepreneurial and creative endeavors.
After earning his Master’s Degree in Computer Sciences with a focus on Artificial Intelligence by age of 20, Cedric applied his analytical mind to the financial market enabling an early ‘retirement’ by the age of 29. Since then, his ‘relaxed hurry’ approach to life has allowed him to cultivate his passion for theatre, as both a thespian and Broadway producer on 2011’s ‘Godspell on Broadway’. In 2011 Yau turned his focus to Broadway with the launch of BroadwayCIO Prophet, a real-time sales analytics tool for Broadway Producers to maximize box office yield.
As a self-professed ‘chubby’ kid in his youth, Cedric cultivated a greater appreciation for health & fitness with the same analytical approach that proved successful in other areas of his life. Not one to dabble, Yau mastered the art of Kung Fu and Yoga under the tutelage of world-renown fitness experts. In 2015, Yau embarked on a 5-star yoga retreat in Bali, which left him underwhelmed by the synthetic-shabby mats provided for practice. It was here, the initial genesis of the BallerYoga brand began and the world’s first official football leather yoga mat was born. Baller Yoga has introduced high-performance, primal mats to yoga enthusiasts and professional sports athletes alike, creating synergy between the practice that many pro-athletes have wisely adopted with the optimal ‘grip-not-stick’ leather the NFL has used for their footballs over decades.
Pulling on the threads of the unknown is what keeps Cedric motivated and engaged in iterating on the status quo. As he continues to explore the limits of his entrepreneurial spirit, BallerYoga has arrived as the latest and perhaps most innovative brain-child of a man on a mission.

  • Taste the music! How one woman is changing the face of special events in LA - Entrepreneur Podcast Network – EPN

Kala Maxym, Founder and CEO of Five Senses Tastings that curates full-sensory “music tastings” for private, corporate, and non-profit clients joins Enterprise Radio.
This episode of Enterprise Radio is working in conjunction with eLosAngeles (Greater Los Angeles Entrepreneurs).
Listen to interview with host Eric Dye & guest Kala Maxym discuss the following:

    * Can you start off by explaining a bit about what “music tasting” is all about?
    * How did the idea come about?
    * Who would you say are your target audiences or markets?
    * Could you give us a couple ideas of some types of events where your services could be employed to help create a more unique and intimate experience?
    * What’s coming up for you in the next couple of months?

Summary: Five Senses Tastings encourages people to go a step beyond when planning the special moments in their lives. Everyone can buy a cheese plate from Costco and a couple bottles of wine from Trader Joe’s and throw a party. But it won’t be memorable. What makes an event memorable is the specificity with which your senses are triggered, and that’s where Five Senses Tastings can really make a difference.
Kala Maxym is the Founder and CEO of LA-based boutique special events company, Five Senses Tastings (5ST). Five Senses Tastings puts a unique twist on the tasting concept asking guests to “taste” with their ears, and then with all five senses, as they are taken on a full-sensory storytelling journey told through live music, wine, cheese, and chocolate. Fully customized “music tastings” are available for both private and public events, and some of 5ST’s recent clients include Diane von Furstenberg, the Oakland Symphony, Douglas Elliman Realty, the Goethe Institute, Héritage Fine Wines, and Columbia University, among many others.
Five Senses Tastings was first founded as a “side gig” while Kala was working full-time for a busy NYC-based tech start-up. Previous to this, Kala’s diverse professional background included working as a Senior Program Analyst with the Criminal Division of the U.S. Department of Justice’s overseas law enforcement initiatives, as a gemologist, and as a professional opera singer (with the occasional impromptu performance for a President) in the U.S. and abroad. All these experiences were enlightening and inspiring, but earlier this year, Kala felt a calling to dedicate herself entirely to her company and so…
This past April, she quit her day job and moved to LA in the same week and is now working full-time on Five Senses Tastings. LA has gifted Kala with one magical moment after another, and the City of Angels is clearly 5ST’s home. Five Senses has several upcoming public music tastings in LA for you to check out. Come by West Hollywood on December 8th (learn more here) or find us in Beverly Hills on December 14th (learn more here). Taste the music! Also book us for your next party or special event before December 31st and receive an in-home wine tasting for 12 worth $150!

  • Janine Iannarelli, CEO of Par Avion Ltd., at the forefront of private aviation - Entrepreneur Podcast Network – EPN

Janine Iannarelli, the CEO of Par Avion, an international business aircraft firm which sells used private jets and business aircraft joins Enterprise Radio.
Listen to interview with host Eric Dye & guest Janine Iannarelli discuss the following:

    * How did you get involved in the private business aviation field?
    * Explain exactly what it is that you do.
    * Why should today’s businesses own a business jet? How can small businesses plan ahead for this eventual purchase?
    * How do you reach your potential buyers?
    * What are the next steps in the growth of Par Avion?

Janine K. Iannarelli has more than 30 years of business aviation experience, having represented numerous corporations and private individuals worldwide with respect to both the sale and purchase of business aircraft. Ms. Iannarelli is the Founder and President of Par Avion Ltd., which is based in Houston, Texas. Par Avion is an aircraft marketing firm that specializes in the exclusive representation and acquisition of business aircraft and whose area of expertise lends itself to the Bombardier Globals and Learjets, Citation, Falcon, Gulfstream, Hawker and Phenom product lines.
Ms. Iannarelli has extensive experience in cross-border transactions, with nearly 90 percent of Par Avion’s business concentrated in this area of specialization. The scope of her experience with aircraft sales transactions reaches well beyond the procurement process in that she has had in-depth interactions with manufacturers, maintenance facilities and completion centers specific to the previously referenced aircraft as well as other makes and models of business aircraft.  Ms. Iannarelli also has worked directly with designated representatives of the Federal Aviation Administration and with many other countries’ civil aviation authorities where she has placed or procured aircraft.
One of many notable adventures in Ms. Iannarelli’s career was her involvement in the ferrying of a Falcon 10 and 100 from the tip of South Africa to Texas in 1997.  The journey was a unique undertaking in that Ms. Iannarelli was surely the first woman broker to undertake this endeavor.  The range of these airplanes dictated that a number of stops en route would need to be made, particularly on the African continent, traveling within range of then war-torn countries and negotiating with local ground support whose first language is French.  The experience included traversing the Sahara Desert, the Atlantic Ocean to the Canary Islands and on to Europe. The North Atlantic leg posed one of the greatest challenges given that flight planning is especially critical with a short-legged airplane.
A 1983 graduate of Montclair State University in Upper Montclair, N.J., Ms. Iannarelli earned a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration with a specific concentration in marketing and a minor in psychology.  She studied the French Language at L’ALLIANCE FRANCAISE de Houston and earned continuing education credits from Rice University in Houston, Texas. She has attended numerous industry–related seminars sponsored by the National Business Aviation Association (NBAA), Professional Aviation Maintenance Association (PAMA) and various manufacturers and aviation product vendors.  She is a current member of the NBAA, European Business Aviation Association (EBAA), Women in Aviation, International, and the American Marketing Association.   In February of 2016 Ms. Iannarelli was invited to serve on the EBAA Associate Member’s Sales and Acquisition committee providing expert input on international sales transactions.
In January 2016, Ms. Iannarelli was reappointed and named presiding officer by Governor Greg Abbott to the Texas A...
