  • Millennial Entrepreneur Leading Clean Eating Revolution - Entrepreneur Podcast Network – EPN

Laureen Asseo from Nutrition Corp., a healthy meal delivery service, specializing in all-organic dishes without preservatives, additives, dairy, gluten, GMOs, hormones, added sugar or soy joins Entrepreneurial Fit Radio.
Listen to interview with host Eric Dye & guest Laureen Asseo discuss the following:

    * I understand you began your culinary career from your kitchen, how did that happen? How did it progress into selling millions of meals today?
    * When creating Nutrition Corp., what core values were you not willing to sacrifice?
    * We also understand that you have your own nonprofit, Feeding Friends. What does the organization do and how is philanthropy aligned with Nutrition Corp.’s mission?
    * We see this trend of more and more millennials wanting to become their own boss. Being a member of Generation Y yourself, what obstacles have you seen and what advice would you give your peers interested in the same path?
    * Where do you think the major shift into clean eating and transparent companies began? Why do you think people are becoming more conscious about what they consume?

Laureen Asseo, raised with her French heritage, began adapting to America’s mass-produced and artificially prepared meals. She and her family soon realized the limited access to affordable meals with nutrient-dense ingredients. The vision was a lofty one at first, but Laureen and her family began preparing hearty, organic and vegan meals for friends and family out of their kitchen. As any woman on a mission, Laureen’s commitment relied on delivering food in home Tupperware containers until orders went beyond their close circle. Demand grew so rapidly that Laureen saw the opportunity to redefine ‘a woman in the kitchen.’ Through creating a niche the market had never seen; Nutrition Corp. was born.

This episode of Enterprise Radio is brought to you by DesignCrowd.com. Learn more and receive your Enterprise Radio $100 VIP offer when you start your next project.
Listen to interview with host Eric Dye & guest Mike Blake discuss the following:

    * Why is valuing a startup important?
    * Isn’t value just what someone else is willing to pay?
    * What’s different about valuing a startup as opposed to other businesses?
    * What is your preferred way to value a startup?
    * What makes one startup different from another?  Why is one startup more or less valuable than another?

Concluding Tip: If you are thinking about valuation in the context of raising capital, don’t forget to factor in terms.  Many investors will give up valuation because they can make it up on terms.

Mike Blake is the founder of Arpeggio Advisors, a boutique business appraisal and corporate strategy advisory firm in Atlanta. Mike’s background has included work in venture capital, investment banking, and public accounting.
For the first eight years of his career, Mike worked in venture capital and investment banking in the U.S. and abroad. Mike led HA&W’s effort to become the first appraisal practice in Georgia to earn the International Society of Business Analysts’ Gold Seal of Trust, the only peer review recognition for observing best practices in the business appraisal profession in the United States.
Mike has particular expertise in the appraisal of firms in the fields of professional services, information technology, aerospace, and alternative energy. In addition, he has developed specific expertise in the appraisal of intellectual property and intangible assets.

  • Building Business Skills without Emptying Your Wallet - Entrepreneur Podcast Network – EPN

Author and teacher Bob Llewellyn, who is also known as The Biz Bucks Guy, because he has taught over 4500 people his Biz Bucks financial decision-making courses again joins Enterprise Radio. Llewellyn has now launched his online training business, BizBasicsOnline.com and discusses the details.
Listen to interview with host Eric Dye & guest Bob Llewellyn discuss the following:

    * We’d like to hear about how a person can gain or improve their business education without emptying their wallet. Can you give us an overview of your online training?
    * What are these four quantitative subjects?
    * Who would be the target audience interested in BizBasics, Bob?
    * But you mentioned decision making. Where does that come in?
    * What are the eight courses, Bob?
    * Where can they learn more about BBO, Bob?

TIP: In today’s WSJ, Eric, is an article about a relatively new metric for business success. It’s called ROIC (Return on Invested Capital) or “ROY-ck”. Your listeners will need to read the article to understand it and see if this is the brass ring for their company. However, the writer had the presence of mind to also interview an NYU finance professor who cautioned ROIC can cause problems. He said good ol’ cash is the best way to measure success and it should be done at the project level, not at some corporate metric. So the tip is:
Cash is the first consideration in decision making.
Don’t get caught up in accounting details or fads of the day.  BBO teaches this cash analysis in a graphical, easy to understand way.

In 1996, Bob Llewellyn formed Llewellyn Consulting, a sole proprietorship focused on building business skills in corporate settings. In addition to consulting in strategy and management systems, he has designed and delivered the Biz Bucks series of business acumen courses, now having taught over 4500 people. He is also the CEO of BizBasicsOnline.com, an online educational site dedicated to teaching the basic quantitative skills of business.
Bob’s 45 years of industry experience spans a diverse set of functions, primarily in the electric-energy industry. These include both leadership and professional work in engineering, marketing, budgeting, management control systems, compensation, and his passion, organizational effectiveness.
He has an electrical engineering degree from Arizona State University and an MBA from the Marshall School at the University of Southern California.
He and his wife, Marilyn, have six children and seventeen grandchildren. They reside in Phoenix, Arizona. Bob enjoys golf, guitar strumming, and “harassing” his grandkids. His volunteer efforts focus on the Boy Scouts of America and church service.

  • All-In, All Day, Every Day - Entrepreneur Podcast Network – EPN

Joe Behm, the co-founder of All-In Athletes LLC and co-author of the book All-In joins Enterprise Radio to discuss the book and how this will benefit a student-athlete who commits.
This episode of Enterprise Radio is brought to you by DesignCrowd.com. Learn more and receive your Enterprise Radio $100 VIP offer when you start your next project.
Listen to interview with host Eric Dye & guest Joe Behm discuss the following:

    * Can you tell me a little about your background as it pertains to All-In?
    * What inspired you to write the book – All IN?
    * What is the significance/strategy behind Smart, Strong, Respect, Commitment and Honor Pillars?
    * How did you decide to format the book around the Pillars and Quotes?
    * What do you see as the benefits for a student-athlete who commit?

Sports made a major impact in Joe Behm’s life. As one of eight children, some of his first childhood memories involved playing pickup games with neighborhood kids. Joe played football and basketball for St. Ignatius High School in Cleveland, Ohio. He then became a walk-on player at Miami University in 1985. Seeking playing time, he transferred to John Carroll University where he was an all-conference linebacker and captain, helping his team win a conference football championship.
Joe’s mission is to pass on the advice and leadership examples he received from his coaches and mentors so young students can reach higher levels of success in athletics and life. Joe says “only a small percentage of athletes will ever benefit financially from playing sports, but every athlete can benefit greatly because of their participation in sports”.
In 2013, Joe established Team of Athlete Role Models, TeamARM and began emailing Play of the Day quotes to family, friends, players, coaches, and acquaintances. These daily messages proved to be very helpful and were often forwarded to friends, teammates and colleagues. In his logo merchandise business, many of Joe’s customers and supporters are former teammates, classmates, fellow alumni, and connections made through sports related organizations.
Joe credits his mother, JoAnn, for her unconditional love and support that enabled him to pursue his athletic and business endeavors.
