Good story, quite a few errors that a copy editor should've caught...
Fun book! With just one caveat: there are a lot of editing and typographical errors.
I think the book would've benefited greatly from having a copy editor and proofreader. As an involved reader, I'd love to be able to look past the editing errors (typos in names, for example Marion for Marin and Lily for Lila) but it's a little difficult.
The story itself is great and I look forward to more books in this series.
Entombed
Kate Baray has brought to her pages a worthy spin-off. The tale keep my interest with dragons, spirit, medians, and what ever supernatural she could add to the mix. The storytelling was fast pace and held the readers to the very end. Worthy read.
Murder and mystery plus dragons!! Excellent!!
All our favorite characters from the Spirelli paranormal investigations plus a few new characters that grow on you quickly. Jack and Marin travel abroad to investigate a possible case after the mysterious disappearance of the local rat population. Only to run into their old friends and then into a ghost. The adventure that results keeps you guessing about what is truly happening and how the good guys will win. A good read for readers of all ages.
Wow
What an unexpected read. Kate has outdone herself with Entombed. I was surprised with the amount of magic info released by Jack and Marin but by the end of the book decided it was an ok issue if not a good one. And if I never read about an aswang again, that will be fine by me. The one amazing thing to me was the ease with which the characters accepted magic into their world. I'm not so sure I would have accepted it as quickly even under those circumstanced. Fortunately, I'll never know.
Quick read, but such a fun ride
This is the only author I have on new release notifications. And I'm a very avid reader! I love Kate Baray's sense of humor and I adore that this series has an atypical pair of main characters. My only complaint is that this book (like the episodes before it) go down so smoothly that it's over before you realize! I tried to pace myself with this one, set timers and limits, but somehow it was over in less than two days and I just want More.
