  • Podcast 140: John Ruhlin: A Man With A Cutting Edge To Killer Gifts!
Todays guest is a man who is simply brilliant at knowing how to build relationships in business.
Instead of doing what every other person does when they try to build connections, and valued connections, our guest knew that he had to step away from the crowd and do things a little differently.
He started his entrepreneurial life whilst attending Malone University, when he started selling world famous Cutco Cutlery.
And for him it was a job that he was good at, but it took a chance request by a father of a girl he was dating that exploded his success.
Her Dad asked if he could engrave his name on a knife, which took a standard knife and turned it into something more persoanable, different and valued by the recipient.
This one action showed him the power of giving value to building relationships.
In five short years, he then went on to break nearly every sales record for Cutco distributors and landed himself in a different hall of fame – the Cutco Hall of Fame.
He did it all before graduating and is now Cutco’s No. 1 distributor of all time, out of over 1,000,000 distributors in the company’s 60 year history.
And with success breeds success and with the confidence achieved of doing things his own way, he then created as co-owner of Ruhlin Partners, a small private equity firm with interests in various companies (including Ruhlin Promotion Group).
He is the co-author of the best-selling book "Cutting Edge Sales", a husband, a father and is a sought after speaker on the topic of relationship development and strategic gift giving.
So had he planned to go this route when he started out, or did he have different dreams of what he wanted to achieve?
Did he have people around him that supported his efforts, or was it all down to himself?
Well lets find out as we bring onto the show, to start joining up dots, with the one and only Mr John Ruhlin. | Show notes: http://joinupdots.com/podcast/john-ruhlin-140/

  • Podcast 139: Ariana Ayu: A Lady Who Can Cast A "Mojo Spell" On All Of Us
Todays guest was destined to live a life of helping people since getting her first job as a nurse way back in 2008.I would guess that we can track this side of her character to an even earlier age too.As since entering the medical profession she has always had the drive not just to get the best out of people physically, by using normal medical means, but also by inspiring greatness with alternative medicine and positive reinforcement. And as we see time and time again, its the mental well-being that really pushes a solopreneur through the gears, and helps them achieve the life that they deserve. And now as a firm believer and create of "The Magic Of Mojo" and "Bodacious Branding" she is taking this ability to interact, engage and inspire into the business word across the globe. So how did this lady grow up in Washington DC, but then end up obtaining a masters in Edinburgh Scotland? And what made her leave the medical profession and head into the corporate world? And are people surprised when during corporate presentations she suddenly bursts into song to entertain the audience?Well lets find out as we bring onto the show to start joining up dots, The National Association of Professional Women’s Woman of the Year the one and only Ariana Ayu. | Show notes: http://joinupdots.com/podcast/ariana-ayu-139/

  • Podcast 138: Ian Usher: Sells His Life On Ebay And Funds A Life Of Chasing Dreams
Todays guest is a man more than a solopreneur.
This is a man who is an example of someone who took massive action and then kept adding to the momentum created by that one act, to quite literally change their life forever.
A few years back in 2008, he made headlines across the world when he auctioned his entire life – car, home, job and friends – on eBay after his marriage collapsed six years after leaving the United Kingdom and setting up home in Australia.
He earnt £192,000 and instead of settling back into domestic life with the sudden windfall, he instead decided to set off on a path which must have been unthought of even a few months earlier.
He took the proceeds and made a fresh start, travelling the world armed with nothing but a list of life-goals.
Over 100 weeks he tackled 100 goals, which included meeting Sir Richard Branson, running with bulls, cage diving with great white sharks, and even joining the Mile High Club.
And now after owning and living on his own island off the coast of Panama, and becoming a speaker, writer, adventurer and traveller his life seems a world away from his childhood in the North of England.
    But is it?
Did he always have this adventurous spirit as a child?
And was his life just waiting for the right moment to find his unique and authentic calling?
Well lets find out, as we bring onto the show, to start joining up dots, the one and only Mr Ian Usher. | Show notes: http://joinupdots.com/podcast/ian-usher-138/

  • Podcast 133: Jenny Hester: A Lady Who Shares The 21 Ways To Change Your Life
Todays guest is the author of the amazing new book "21 Ways to Invite Excellence into Your Life." Growing up in a farming family, she spent many hours shooting, hunting, riding motorcycles, and of course riding on horses and loved the freedom the outdoors.
It was a carefree existence, that fitted perfectly with our outgoing personality. But unfortunately all of her childhood was not so carefree, as she experienced a series of traumatic experiences capped by her mom’s diagnosis with breast cancer.
Blow after blow, eroded her ability to trust and drove her to put up emotional walls she would struggle with for years.Existing behind those self-constructed barriers led to an unauthentic life, which made her make choices that were "safe" and made her live the life she sensed others wanted her to live.
This of course led to an unauthentic life of unhappiness and emotional and physical issues, which once again she battled with.
In 2010, her life seemed to fall apart both physically and emotionally. After having seen numerous doctors, even at the university level, she was told, "You’re not going to find what you’re looking for in mainstream medicine." So she went outside mainstream medicine and found a specialist who helped her find the root causes of her health problems.
Today she is 100% free of all prescription medications and the healthiest she has ever been. But that was just the start of her life, and as she has found once you find your authentic self, things start flowing in a different direction and with much more certainty of a great end product an amazing life.
So would she change those dark moments that she has experienced, or are they simply what makes her who she is today? Well lets find out as we bring onto the show to start joining up the dots of her life, the one and only Jenny Hester. | Show notes: http://joinupdots.com/podcast/jenny-hester-133/

  • Podcast 132: Kimanzi Constable: The Return Of The Dreamer And Achiever
At the end of each show you will hear me say the words "Please come back again when you have more dots to join up as I believe that by joining up those dots and connecting our pasts its the best way to build our futures".Well todays guest is doing just that, as they previously appeared way back in the first week of Join Up Dots, episode seven to be precise. He is a man who inspires me daily by his positive outlook, ability to overcome huge challenges and his desire to have an amazing life.As you will hear in todays episode its really the kind of life that we could all have, if we only are brave enough, make good financial decision’s and want it bad enough.Several years ago he was treading the same path that the majority of us have trod over the years.Working long hours at the expense of seeing his children and family.Striving to build a business that ultimately didn’t fulfil him.And banishing the dreams that he had, to be a writer, he struggled on and on.Finally with a debt of over $100,000, overweight, over-stressed, and deeply unhappy he came to a crossroads in his life.He knew that he had to change direction and claim a life of his own.And that is where we left him at the end of episode seven, so if you want to feel the force of his full story, stop listening now and jump to the beginning. We will wait for you to get back. But if you are already inspired by what you have already heard, lets continue as we bring onto the show once more, to join up more dots, the one and only Mr Kimanzi Constable. | Show notes: http://joinupdots.com/podcast/kimanzi-constable-132/

  • Podcast 131: Jo Roberts: Changing The Lives Of Young Adults With The Help Of Nature
Todays guest was born in South Africa and spent her childhood enjoying the amazing wildlife of Africa.
So its a not a surprise really that her life has stayed close to nature, and since 2004 she has held the position of Director of the Wilderness Foundation, developing ways that we can link wilderness trails to peace and reconciliation.
But her connection with the foundation goes back a lot further to 1998.
She believes that the effects of protecting the wilderness is a great way of developing sound youth leadership built on environmental awareness and ethics, especially the youths that might be considered as at risk.
Take kids who might have lost their morals, focus or perhaps a belief that the world is a wonderful place, and get them to challenge their attention into protecting and establishing the world.
It seems to me a fantastic way to bring the lost souls back to us in a hugely positive way and is something we need more and more off across the globe.
But lets find out where she channels her efforts on a daily basis.
And whether this lady who is spending her time providing such value to the world, is content with her efforts, or like so many wonderfully caring people does she beat herself up that she isn't doing as much as she would want for the world?
And lastly I suppose could she imagine any other life, or was it destined from her very first days on the earth?
Well lets find out as we bring onto the show, to start joining up dots, the one and only Jo Roberts. | Show notes: http://joinupdots.com/podcast/131-jo-roberts/
