When Jordan was 23, he decided to buy a Taco Del Mar restaurant... He knew that he had made a huge mistake at 2 pm the first day when only 3 customers had walked in... (and two of them were his parents haha)

For 5 years he worked hard to grow sales every way he could think of and in the end, tripled his revenue which still didn't seem to matter on the profit side. (he did lose a lot of money💰)

The one thing that seemed to be the best at in the restaurant endeavour was the marketing and getting people in the door.

Fast forward to 2014 when his wife Carmen started a modest baby clothing line and was selling at craft markets. He asked if he could test running a few ads on Facebook... and the rest is history.

Jordan learned every up and coming strategy and tactic and helped grow the small start-up to a multi-million dollar company and still growing!

He’s good at... Marketing and helping others scale their businesses. 

In 2019 they started the podcast "secrets to scaling your e-commerce brand" which is now in the top 50 business/marketing podcasts in multiple countries including Canada and the United States.

On top of that, they founded Mindful Marketing Co. to help scale brands, stores and makers using paid marketing. I love to see brands grow and founders shift from grinding to scaling... it's what gets me out of bed in the morning!

Aanchal Is 28 year old and Hong Kong-based commercial photographer, actress, model and entrepreneur. 

She runs several businesses including Matryoshka Studio, Academy of Design, Stage Creatives & Stage Management.

She founded Matryoshka Studio 10 years ago - a photo studio covering fashion, beauty, product and advertorial projects. She and her team handle everything from art direction, model scouting, makeup artists, hair stylists up to high-end retouching, props and studio rental.

A year ago, she founded STAGE Creatives - a creative production house covering all things visual, their services include photography, videography, animation, illustration, graphic design as well as website development and design. 

Their focus is to be a one-stop visual content production that would simplify the process, save time and bring down the overall costs from delegating to different businesses.

She's also the Executive Producer on the team and helps oversee each production while maintaining communication with the clients to ensure cohesive branding and identity.

A few months ago, during the midst of the pandemic, she partnered with a veteran model in Hong Kong, Nikola Lines, to launch STAGE Management under STAGE Creatives. The purpose of the management is to break stereotypes and the one track standard of beauty within the industry. They proudly represent diversity and inclusivity by managing talent that features different body types, height, skin colours, hair textures, culture, body art and identities.

Despite the difficulties that the virus has brought to the world, they are grateful for all the opportunities they have gotten so far and are proud to share that our models have received projects with companies such as McDonald's, Fila, New Balance and Link Reit.

She's also a co-founder at the Academy of Design in Hong Kong where design-related short courses and workshops are organised at low costs to promote the art industry in either English or Cantonese.

I have had over 30 years of starting and running SME’s in a variety of sectors.

Most have been micro-businesses but one in particular, which was a kitchen-table start-up a single Mum, I grew to the multi-million mark and was lucky to win a variety of regional and national awards.

During that time, I became involved in a variety of campaigns to encourage enterprise, including being one of 50 women asked to represent Britain in an EU scheme.

While I had many years of success, I also hit failure for a variety of reasons when I tried to continue to scale the business.  It didn’t help that I had lost my “why” with the children being of a size where they no longer needed my support.  That notwithstanding, I have had some truly amazing experiences.

The business was almost accidental for me and what I really wanted to do was write.  I contributed for many years to Real Business.  When in poor health and misery, I decided to give up the strife of a manufacturing business, I decided to follow my childhood dream and become a blogger and an author.

Being all too familiar with mistakes people make when scaling up, I thought I could combine my experience, other people’s expertise and my writing and produce a book about scaling that would help other people not fall into so many pitfalls as I did.  Entitled Scale for Success, it is being published by Bloomsbury next year.

I remain as passionate as ever about encouraging people to go into business, both to recession-proof themselves as far as possible and to take control of their own destinies
