Have a listen if you think you or someone you know might be empathic. Being empathetic or being empathic are both really valuable skills, but you have to know what you're working with. It's like being able to tell the difference between a spoon and a fork. While they are both eating utensils, they have very different applications. When it comes to recognizing states of stability or instability and how to resolve those states, confusing these terms or not truly understanding the difference can, at best, delay healing, but at worst, result in years of anguish or harmful ideations.
