In this episode, we talk about how video games and the gaming industry interact with our environment! From materials to planned obsolescence, there's a lot of factors that lead to emissions we may not think about when buying the newest game.

This week I talked with fellow ESSYI alum Louis Zavala about his experiences with the environment and environmental stewardship! Louis is headed to Cornell's Agriculture and Life Sciences School next year to continue his activism in regards to the environment.

This week, Grace talks to the founder of an interdisciplinary environmental magazine: Ava Hedecker. Ava is 18 years old and from Chicago, and the scope of her magazine and the amount of collaborators she is able to bring into the movement is truly remarkable.

In this episode, Grace talks about why healthy soil is important and how we can keep our soil healthy! Additionally, she touches on potential for carbon storage within our soil and how our current food system and farming practices strive more for convenience rather than concern for our future. 

In this episode Grace discusses the Keystone XL Pipeline and the implications of President Biden's revoking of the permitting necessary for the project to continue. She runs through a timeline of events, reasons tar crude oil is more prone to spills, and news surrounding the pipeline. 

This week Grace talks about solar! The industry and how it relates to economics, benefits of home solar panels, different ways to finance them, and things about your roof that might effect how much energy you get. Home solar panels are a great commitment to sustainability and can often cost the same if not less than what you're paying for non renewables. 

In this episode, Grace goes through Biden's history with environmental legislation, aspects of the Biden Climate Plan, and potential Cabinet members who Biden has said he will nominate for office. In a time of chaotic politics it is important to look ahead to the next presidency and the future of our nation, both generally and in regards to the environment. Time will tell what Biden's legislation will look like.
