Stop overthinking and start taking action. If you spend more time planning, researching and strategising in your head than actually doing, this video is for you.
Your ideas can't create results while they're stuck between your ears. In this episode, I explain why you need to "create ripples" by putting one action out into the world every single day, whether that's content, reaching out to a client, training, or a conversation with your manager. Good or bad, the feedback moves you forward. Over time, those ripples turn into waves.
This is mental fitness in action: building the habit of doing things when you don't feel like it, and making life respond to you instead of waiting for the perfect moment.

00:00 Why You’re Not Getting the Results You Want
01:46 How F1 Uses First Principles Thinking
02:26 Find the One Thing That Actually Matters
03:38 Strip the Problem Back to the Real Cause
04:45 The Mental Blocker Behind Your Results
05:28 Use Action Reps to Train the Real Weakness
06:03 Take Responsibility and Change the Result
If you're doing all the right things but still not getting the results you want, you might be working on the wrong problem.
In Formula 1, we strip performance back to first principles: what is the real cause of the result we're seeing?
You can do exactly the same thing with your career, business, sport or life.
In this video, I'll show you how to get beneath the surface problem, find the behaviour or mental blocker that's actually holding you back, and start training the thing that will make the biggest difference. Because sometimes you're only a millimetre away from a completely different result.

00:00 Why your mind runs on loops
02:10 How a mental loop actually works
05:45 How loops program your mind
06:32 How to start changing the loop
07:12 Where your loops are holding you back
08:48 The part of the loop you need to control
Your mind runs on loops. A trigger happens, you give it meaning, that creates a state, and that state drives how you act.
The problem is that some of those loops are working against the goals you want to achieve.
In this video, I break down how those mental loops are formed, how they keep reinforcing themselves, and the part of the loop you need to take control of if you want to change your automatic response.
This is about consciously changing the way you interpret situations so you can create a better state, act differently, and gradually reprogram the way your mind responds.

08:31 Summary
09:31 Your reality check
Most people spend their time thinking about the goal they want to achieve, but rarely stop and honestly assess whether the person they are today is capable of achieving it.
In this video, I’ll show you a simple goal-setting and self-assessment exercise I’ve used with people I coach for years. You’ll look at the goal you want, work out what that goal actually demands from you, then score yourself honestly against those demands.
That might mean looking at your discipline, resilience, confidence, focus, consistency or ability to perform under pressure.
The important bit is using evidence rather than ego. Look back over the last few weeks and ask yourself how disciplined you’ve actually been, how you responded to setbacks, how you performed when the pressure was on, and whether your current behaviour matches the ambitions you say you have.
That gap between where you are now and the person your goal requires is where the real work begins.
If you have a big goal you want to achieve, do this exercise properly. It might be uncomfortable, but it will show you exactly what you need to work on next.

Stop choking under pressure by understanding how your brain predicts your performance before you even start.Â
Many of us struggle with performance anxiety when the stakes are high, feeling like we crumble right when it matters most. This breakdown explains why your mind is actually predicting failure before you walk into the room and how you can manage that subconscious process. Whether you are dealing with nerves before a presentation or any high-pressure situation, this perspective helps you regain control.
We examine the psychological mechanism behind why your brain anticipates a negative outcome and how to shift that internal narrative. By addressing your mental preparation, you can interrupt the cycle of choking under pressure and approach challenges with a clearer focus. Understanding the root cause of these feelings is the first step toward better performance.

07:32 Repetition Reprograms The Mind
Your mind is not seeing life directly. It is locked inside your skull, working from signals, memories, emotions, past experiences and predictions. In other words, your mind is making its best guess.
That guess becomes your Mental Matrix, the inner construct you live through. It shapes what you notice, what you avoid, how you react under pressure, and the patterns you keep repeating.
After years coaching drivers in elite motorsport, I had to help people take a normal civilian mind and train it to perform in one of the most intense, high-pressure and dangerous environments in sport.
This video explains how that same process applies to life, business, sport, performance and personal change.
You will learn:
Why your mind builds a Mental Matrix
How old patterns quietly control your behaviour
Why pressure exposes your current mental training
How to spot the behaviour that is tripping you up
How to use an Action Rep to start recoding the pattern
This is the beginning of BASE Mental Fitness.
The goal is simple: train your mind so it becomes fit for the life you are trying to build.
