Dr. Sajjad Hussain is a Senior Lecturer (Associate Professor) at the James Watt School of Engineering, University of Glasgow, UK. Sajjad Hussain did his masters in Wireless Communications in 2006 from Supelec, Gif-sur-Yvette and PhD in Signal Processing and Communications in 2009 from University of Rennes 1, Rennes, France. 

In this episode we discuss Biomedical, Structural and Architectural Engineering and how AR VR and immersive content enhances learning and student engagement.  We also discuss MRI technology in 3D lessons and in the workplace, Architecture Environments to scale, and Structural Engineering and safety considerations in immersive learning.

Jamshid Mohammadi,  PhD, SE, PE, is currently a Professor of Civil and Architectural Engineering, the Dean of Graduate College and the interim director of the Center for Learning Innovation at Illinois Institute of Technology in Chicago, Illinois, USA. 

 Dr. Keigo Kawaji, a Biomedical Engineer, holds the title of Assistant Professor of Biomedical Engineering at the Illinois Institute of Technology (IIT).  He is the Principal Investigator (PI) of the Magnetic Resonance Technology Discovery Lab, which was first founded at the University of Chicago’s Cardiac Imaging Center's MRI program in 2014.  

 Edoarda Corradi Dell'Acqua, Senior Lecturer of Civil, Architectural, and Environmental Engineering, teaches architectural design at the Illinois Institute of Technology. Her research interests lie at the intersection of architecture and engineering with a focus on energy conservation.

Peter La Monica, as an expert computer forensic analysis for the USPIS, was a pioneer in mobile device analysts. He assisted federal, state and local law enforcement agencies with computer and mobile forensics and was a key contact for criminal investigations for crimes against children, mail fraud and other crimes involving computers. He completed more than 400 computer forensic and cell phone analysis.  

As a Computer Forensic Analyst he attended more than 700 hours of computer forensic training in; FTK, EnCase, Device Seizure, XRY, Secure View, iLook, E-Mail Examiner, Gargoyle, iXAM, Device Seizure, Data Pilot, Mobile Edit and others sponsored by Department of Defense (DOD), SEARCH, Access Data, Guidance Software, Paraben, Federal Law Enforcement Training Center (FLETC), NH Cyber Crime Initiative, The Commonwealth of Massachusetts Attorney General's Office, High Technology Crime Investigation Association (HTCIA), NWC3 and others.  

Mr. La Monica has developed computer related training for technology resellers as well as training for the more technology challenged. He has been teaching part time at colleges and corporate training centers since 1982 and joined the Manchester Community College staff as a full time Associate Professor in 2012.

Dr. Teatulohi Matainah from the Pacific Adventist University in Papua New Guinea discusses the future of learning in XR and the Metaverse. 

Professor Teatulohi (Lohi) Matainaho

Appointed in September 2021 as Vice Chancellor of the Pacific Adventist University, Papua New Guinea (PNG). Prior to his appointment, he was for 8 years, the Chairman of the PNG Science and Technology Council, and Chief Science Advisor to the Government. He was therefore instrumental in the setting up of the PNG Science and Technology Council and its Secretariat (Office of Science & Technology), and coordinated policy discussions in the development of national science, technology and innovation policies. His role as Chief Science Advisor was vital in informing government on the merit of science-based information and scientific data in policy decision making.

Lohi Matainaho has a PhD in pharmacology from the University of Queensland, Australia and held positions as professor of basic medical sciences and pharmacology at the School of Medicine and Health Sciences, and dean of research at the University of Papua New Guinea. He also has adjunct appointment with the University of Utah, USA, and James Cook University, Australia. His research interest has been in drug discovery in biodiversity and marine products, and snakebite anti-venom.
