EP 019 Jeff Rogers: Using Improv for Creativity and Innovation

Listen Later

We all have the ability to be creative, and improv is one way to release it. That’s the message from Jeff Rogers, the owner of The Players Workshop, the oldest improvisation school in the country and home to alumni like Bill Murray, Bonnie Hunt, Harold Ramis, and Matt Walsh.
Jeff continues the tradition of teaching improvisation to anyone interested in learning the art for stage or for life. Jeff is a Wall Street Journal and USA Today Best-Selling Author, and Master of Ceremony, for many corporate events.
Throughout his career he has worked with people including Stephen Colbert, Steve Carell, Amy Sedaris, Tina Fey and Amy Poehler. Today, he teaches the tools of improvisation to corporate clients via workshops to bring out the best in teams, so they can be more creative and innovative.
Perfectionists and creatives will really enjoy this episode for both personal and professional growth.
In our conversation, we discuss:
·        Being the youngest performer at Second City in Chicago.
·        Playing in the workplace.
·        Combining the formal design thinking process with improvisation.
·        Listen Slow to think Fast.
·        Being in the present moment is a part of improvisation.
·        Seeking perfection is impossible to achieve.
Remember to get the three chapters of Jeff’s book, the brainstorming roadmap and the course from Jeff’s website listed below.
