Welcome to Episode 34 - Brain Health. What is the difference between Alzheimers and Dementia?
Alzheimer's disease, the most common form of dementia, is characterized by the accumulation of two types of protein in the brain: tangles (tau) and plaques (amyloid-beta). Dementia is general term for memory loss and other cognitive abilities serious enough to interfere with daily life.
Eventually, Alzheimer's kills brain cells and takes people's lives. I can attest, after losing my grandfather to the disease, it’s a very harrowing and debilitating disease that is extremely difficult to watch as the individual you once knew become so disenchanted, frustrated, confused and you can see it in their eyes that something horrible Is taking place. What is worse for me is that it’s a process – and as long as the individual is alive – you watch them experience it. Its really awful.
HOWEVER, recent research, studies and reports have all concluded that the BEST preventative care strategy is through Lifestyle Management tools. Tune in to find out how to keep your brain in tip-top function.....
