Ep: 047 - Difficult Decision Making (& Happy Mother’s Day!)

Sometimes it can feel like life is only a series of difficult decisions. All the easy ones are made quickly. Only tough ones get left for us to struggle with.
“When facing two options, choose the harder one.”
In many ways, the life we all want to live is waiting for us on the other side of a series of tough decisions- whether it is your personal health, diet, an intimate relationship, family, career, sporting success, or a combat deployment. Often, we already know what we should do, but the lazier part of our mind throws up an easy way out as a fake alternative.
Key topic points:
· Avoiding a decision is in fact a decision- procrastination.
· Different parts of us want different things.
· Get distance from the decision.
· Revisit your original or highest objective.
· Who are we making the decision for? Ourselves and our character vs other people’s opinion of us.
Mike opens up about times when he chose the harder right option, and contrasts that with a very moving story of a time when he procrastinated. Melon shared his two very different decisions when preparing to join the Australian Army vs when he joined the Air Force.
