Brittany is a Self-Love & Mindset Coach who teaches women to love their bodies and find balance in their daily lives. After experiencing disordered eating and having a controlling and negative approach to her body image as an adolescent Brittany decided she never wanted other women to feel how she felt and decided to start her business and podcast, Body Talk with Bee.
Brittany didn't know she needed help right away because she always received praise for being thin and was always seen as healthy. But it was her mindset towards food and exercise that was toxic and eventually led her to her rock bottom point in her life and self harm. She has since embarked on a journey to heal herself physically, emotionally and mentally and bring awareness to this too common of an issue and really redefine what "being healthy" actually means.
In this episode we discuss:
-Where Brittany grew up, being a dancer and growing up with a naturally slim body then going through physical changes during puberty
-Realizing she was going through disordered eating and her mindset was not healthy toward food
-Brittany’s rock bottom experience and her first step to heal
-Her feelings toward going to therapy
-My experience dealing with anxiety in university
-Listening to cues from your body to determine when and how much to eat it
-Major part of healing was learning how to forgive herself
-How her body reacted to being deficient in nutrients
-Dealing with self harm
-Using inner child work to have more compassion towards ourselves and others
-About Brittany’s coaching program
-How Brittany approaches food and exercise presently with her healthier mindset
