Ep. 10: What sparring with UFC champ Leon Edwards is like - pro kickboxer & coach Nathan Epps
In this episode of the podcast, I sat down with professional kickboxer and striking coach to some of UK MMA’s biggest stars, Nathan Epps.
Nathan is an extremely experienced striker, having fought all over the globe at a world-class level. He is also an incredibly experienced coach, having worked with fighters such as UFC welterweight champion Leon Edwards, Bellator middleweight title contender Fabian Edwards, and Bellator/PFL star Tim Wilde, amongst many others.
Nathan shared:
- What it’s like sparring and playing poker with Leon Edwards, and the similarities between the two.
- Bruce Buffer’s reaction to ‘Rocky’ getting caught by Nate Diaz in the 5th round (who was sitting next to Nathan cage-side, as it happened).
- How to make the most out of your amateur career before going pro, and how this pertains to a wider school of thought as to how to coach fighters at different stages of their career.
- Who kicks harder out of the Edwards brothers.
And a whole lot more.
