We have the maple syrup out on that table and that can only mean one thing… we’re having pancakes. We also have apple juice and cheeseball puffs before discussing Rain Man. The dignified portrayal of a man with autism is nothing that’s laughed about in this drama. We agree that there is some long lost time that the Babbitt brothers need to make up for and this film conveniently allows that to happen in a road trip, but the ending needs a little more brotherly love. In all, Charlie may still be unlikeable and Ray may be only a tad transformed by the trip, but the brothers finally have each other and that’s something that we can get behind.
