On this week's episode of The Cam & Otis Show, we are honored to welcome John Krotec as our guest (see bio below). We explore his transition from the Army to life as an entrepreneur and how his love for country and sense of servitude still drive his pursuits today. In this captivating conversation we answer and discuss the questions and much more: What do you do when you are faced with a situation you don't understand? Why do you need a mentor? What impact do you want to have on your community?
John is an entrepreneur, writer, and army veteran. After college John went to work in
corporate America and realized that despite doing well in the job, he wanted something
more. He joined the army later in life with the purpose of being able to make money to go to
law school. The army taught him discipline and how to value himself. After serving for three
years he left the army and returned to civilian life. It was then that he got reacquainted with
his future wife, helping her raise a family. Together they also successfully ran a business for
23 years leading international guided tours.
In 2016 he founded Greenzone Hero, a for-profit company that honors freedom to improve
business. The membership-based company has over 600 locations including Harley
Davidson, Boar’s Head, John Deere, and Community Aids Network. Greenzone Hero gives
companies tools and strategies to differentiate themselves from their competition. It gives
members the recognition and exposure they deserve for supporting veterans, active duty
military personnel and their families by providing a listing page to help companies promote
their business. They also offer business advice, proven business strategies, digital marketing
tools, search engine optimization, and awards cyber medals. Their podcast, Straight Outta
Combat, diminishes the negative stereotyping of combat veterans. It is also a healing
platform offering combat veterans an opportunity to tell their personal stories. Their Angel
Brigade podcast series honors Gold Star Families and educates what Gold Star means.
