The only way to dismantle old thoughts is to prove them wrong through emotional embodiment. When it comes to alcohol the the ability to think on purpose gets over run by the powerful and avoided sensations of urges and the other emotions that trigger them.
Habitual alcohol consumption is a form of reinforced trauma.
The use of alcohol, as the great invalidator says again and again, THE WAY YOU ARE ISN'T OKAY.
You can change your thoughts on purpose all you want, but until you interrupt your ETA at the emotion by experiencing it, that thought will still have power over you.
Today I teach an embodied practice for how to process you emotions and make SPACE and access to new thinking. Days get dark, emotions get heavy, relief comes when you surrender to what wants to come through your body.
