Mariane Konstantaras joins us to share about the births of her two sons, Luca and Leo. With Luca, she started off in the care of a doctor with a plan to deliver in the hospital. Midway through pregnancy she transferred her care to midwives at a freestanding birth center. After a long early labor that presented some unexpected challenges, Mariane ended up transferring to the hospital and having an unmedicated birth with her midwives there. For her second pregnancy, she and her husband knew that they wanted to have a home birth. After a few days of prodromal labor, she gave birth to Leo in a tub in her living room.
